Mindfulness - Meditation
Have you ever noticed that your brain sometime goes on auto-pilot. It responds the same way over and over again. It can increase our level of distress, anxiety and negative self-talk and we often feel powerless trying to control it. Mindfulness-based meditation combats this auto-pilot and allow us to become observers of it and learn to control it. Just like training for a marathon or muscle building, meditation takes consistent practice and guidance. Our counselors can assist in helping clients learn how to start a meditation practice, assist in helping them overcome common barriers to meditation and develop a lifetime practice that will hopefully reduce depressive symptoms, anxiety and stress levels.
